\n We are seeking a proactive and customer-focused
Finance Assistant to join our client’s Finance team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery of a high-quality finance service that supports the organisation's strategic objectives and ensures effective financial governance.\n
\n
\n Working closely with the Finance Manager and Chief Financial Controller, you will play a key role in supporting the organisation's financial operations, maintaining robust financial processes and providing excellent service to colleagues across the organisation.\n

About the Role:\n
\n
\n As a Finance Assistant, you will:\n
\n
\n - Support the development and continuous improvement of finance systems, procedures and processes across income and expenditure functions
\n - Maintain robust financial processes that provide effective support to budget holders
\n - Build positive working relationships with budget holders to ensure financial services meet operational needs
\n - Ensure compliance with the organisation's Financial Regulations, operational procedures and procurement policies
\n - Assist in the preparation of financial reports, management information and papers to support strategic decision-making
\n - Process financial transactions accurately and efficiently, ensuring all purchases and payments comply with organisational procedures
\n - Promote value for money and support compliant procurement activities
\n - Maintain finance systems, databases and administrative processes to ensure an efficient and effective finance service
\n - Provide cross-team support across finance functions and work flexibly across multiple sites when required
\n - Deliver professional, customer-focused support by telephone, email and in person
\n - Support effective cash management and maintain appropriate financial security controls
\n - Contribute to the implementation of organisational policies relating to finance, quality, health and safety, risk management, equality, diversity and inclusion

Key skills and experience:\n
\n
\n - HNC in Accounting, Finance or a related subject, or equivalent relevant experience within a complex finance environment
\n - Evidence of continuing professional development
\n - An understanding of finance operations within a large, complex organisation
\n - Knowledge of financial systems and accounting software
\n - A sound understanding of delivering efficient, high-quality financial support
\n - Knowledge of payroll processes would be advantageous
\n - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
\n - Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
\n - Excellent customer service skills and a professional approach
\n - High standards of accuracy and attention to detail
\n - Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
\n - The ability to analyse financial information and present it clearly with minimal supervision
\n - Flexibility to work across multiple sites as required
\n - Experience of working within a finance or accounts environment
\n - A proven ability to deliver accurate work within demanding timescales
\n - Experience of providing financial support within a customer-focused organisation
