Role Overview
\n
\n - Assemble and test mechanical and hydraulic components in a workshop environment
\n - Work as part of a skilled engineering team to deliver high-quality assemblies safely and on time
\n - This role is well suited to vehicle technicians, automotive mechanics, plant fitters, or similar mechanical backgrounds looking to move into an engineering/manufacturing setting

Key Responsibilities
\n
\n - Mechanical assembly of components, sub-assemblies, and complete assemblies
\n - Manufacture, assembly, and testing of hydraulic hoses and pipework
\n - Load testing, pressure testing, and functional testing of assemblies
\n - Use hand tools, power tools, and workshop equipment safely and correctly
\n - Read and interpret engineering drawings and follow build/test instructions
\n - Complete job-related documentation including quality records and timesheets
\n - Work closely with other departments to meet quality and delivery targets
\n - Maintain good housekeeping and support general workshop maintenance
\n - Follow all health, safety, and risk assessment requirements
\n - Carry out additional workshop tasks as required

Skills & Experience
\n
\n - Strong mechanical background (automotive, vehicle technician, HGV, plant, or similar highly desirable)
\n - Experience in mechanical assembly, fitting, or maintenance
\n - Confident using hand and power tools
\n - Ability to work accurately under pressure while maintaining quality standards
\n - Good communication skills and a team-focused approach
\n - Willingness to learn new skills with in-house training provided
\n

Qualifications (Desirable)
\n
\n - Mechanical apprenticeship or equivalent hands-on training
\n - 23 years post-apprenticeship or relevant industry experience
\n
\n
